Congressman Tom Reed is out of the hospital now after he collapsed just prior to a television appearance in Washington, D.C. on Thursday afternoon. It happened in the rotunda of the Cannon House Office Building.

Various media outlets, including Spectrum News reporter Samantha-Jo Roth, have reported that Reed collapsed just before an appearance on Fox.

Roth tweetedthat the Southern Tier Republican was conscious and speaking before paramedics arrived.

Reed put out this statement on Friday morning:

“Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers. After my evaluation by the doctors at George Washington University Hospital, it turns out I had a previously undiagnosed case of pneumonia. I look forward to returning to work on Monday.”

The 47-year-old Reed was first elected to Congress in 2010.
