Student musicians and educators are showing off their talents in Rochester this weekend at the New York State School Music Association conference.
The event takes place at the Riverside Convention Center, with shows Saturday evening and Sunday morning at the Eastman Theater.
The high school juniors and seniors will perform in eight ensembles and participate in professional music education development sessions.
John Gallagher, spokesperson for the association said music education is strong in New York, and this gives the community a chance to see that.
"While we may not be able to showcase every instrumental or vocal student in every school in the state, this is a great representation of what we do."
Over 900 students from across the state are in town for the music event.
This is the 82nd anniversary of the conference, and 20th year it’s been in Rochester.
