Add Nazareth College to the list of local colleges and universities that will require all students, faculty and staff to have received the COVID-19 vaccination before returning to campus this fall.
The college issued a statement on Friday saying that there will be limited exemptions, such as religious and medical reasons.
Nazareth says that the decision was made in accordance with the recommendations of the American College Health Association, which made a statement stating that comprehensive COVID-19 vaccination is the most effective way for institutions of higher education to return to a safe, robust, on-campus experience for students.
Nazareth noted that New York state also recommends that public and private colleges require vaccination.
