A New York Army National Guard helicopter made what officials are terming a ‘precautionary landing’ on a local golf course on Monday.
None of the five crew members were injured. Officials say the UH-60 Blackhawk, medical evacuation helicopter is based at an aviation facility at the Rochester Airport.
It was on a routine training flight when a crack developed in the windshield and that caused some sparks because of a de-icing system in the windshield.
The chopper touched down as a precaution at the Chili Country Club, and it was later flown back to the National Guard aviation facility in Rochester.
