Monroe County continues to see a rising number of cases of COVID-19. In the data released on Friday, there were 323 new cases and no new deaths.
The seven-day rolling average positivity rate for Monroe County rose to 2.9%. That is the highest infection rate since Feb. 4.
The sseven-day rolling average of new cases is 239 new cases per day.
There are 190 people hospitalized in the Finger Lakes Region; 41 are in ICU.
Also on Friday, the Monroe County Department of Public Health urged individuals who were at the Sweden Town Park playground on Redman Road in Sweden on Tuesday, April 6, between 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m., to immediately self-quarantine and contact the Monroe County COVID-19 Hotline at 585-753-5555 as soon as possible.
Health officials say that an individual who has tested positive for COVID-19 was in close contact with other, unknown individuals at the playground.
The County Health Department reminds residents of the critical importance of cooperating with county contact tracing investigators, especially as there has been an upward trend in the positivity rate.
Health officials said that contact tracing is essential to controlling the spread of the virus and protecting the health and safety of everyone in our community.
