MCC names interim president

provided

The State University Board of Trustees has named an interim president to lead Monroe Community College.

Katherine Douglas was recommended to SUNY by the MCC Board of Trustees.

She will start the new job on February 3rd.  Anne Kress, who held the post for a decade, has moved on to become president of  Northern Virginia Community College.

Officials say that Douglas has more than 40 years of experience in community college education, most recently, serving as president of Corning Community College for eight years until she retired last June.

It’s expected Douglas will serve as an interim leader for 12 to 18 months while the college conducts a nationwide search for a permanent president.
