Lollypop Farm closed Sunday for deep cleaning due to case of feline distemper

Lollypop Farm says it will be closed to the public on Sunday for a precautionary deep clean of the organization’s main Fairport location and adoption center in The Mall at Greece Ridge.

The Humane Society of Greater Rochester says that recently, a case feline distemper was diagnosed by Lollypop Farm’s veterinary clinic. That is a a highly contagious viral disease that can threaten the life of kittens and cats.

Out of an abundance of caution and to ensure this case remains isolated, Lollypop Farm says it will close both locations for an exhaustive cleaning.

Any cats potentially exposed to the virus have been quarantined and the health of all cats in the shelter will continue to be monitored closely.

Lollypop Farm is seeking donations of towels during this time to help with their cleaning effort.
