Local Singers to Perform at London Olympics

A local singing group has been invited to perform at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.

The Rochester Association of Performing Arts says the ROC City Singers are one of only two groups invited to represent the United States during the American Musical Salute at the upcoming games.

Roc City Singers consists of 24 high school and college singers and dancers from the Rochester and Finger Lakes region.

The group will need to raise some 115-thousand dollars, however, to make the trip to the Olympics.

A fundraising event is planned for next Wednesday at Dixon Schwabl on Mosley Road.
