Latest update from county shows 4 more deaths from COVID-19

The Monroe County public health department said Monday that there are 29 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since Sunday afternoon, bringing the total number of cases to 1,818.

Out of those cases, 91 people are hospitalized, with 19 on a ventilator in the intensive care unit.

There were four new deaths reported since Sunday, bringing the total number of deaths to 152.

Information from the county shows that of the 29 new cases, two were for children between the ages of 10 and 19. Seven people in their 40s -- four women and three men -- and seven women in their 60s were among the new cases.

The health department said that 1,001 people who had COVID-19 have recovered from isolation.

In terms of testing, the county said it has a three-day average of 519 tests per day for PCR and antibody testing, with a total of 20,672 PCR tests completed to date.
