Kodak lights up 'Kodak Center Theater' with a new marquee and digital sign

Kodak officials lit up a new marquee and digital sign Thursday night at Kodak Center Theater on West Ridge Road in Rochester.

As WXXI News reported last week, it’s part of a push overall by Kodak to make a number of changes to Eastman Business Park and the surrounding neighborhoods.

The name, Kodak Center, was shortened from Kodak Center for the Performing Arts. And before that, it used to be known as Theater on the Ridge.

The company has also announced a partnership with SMG, the large venue management company to help attract various acts to the venue and promote them. SMG also manages the Blue Cross Arena in Rochester and CMAC in Canandaigua.

Until now, Kodak Center Theater never had a marquee. The new digital sign will promote events to the estimated 40,000 vehicles that pass by the theater every day.
