Kodak Creates E-Commerce Company

Kodak has announced the development of a new e-commerce company.

The company is called eApeiron, and it was created with some of the assets of Eastman Kodak along with an investment from the Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba Group.

The new firm will be headquarters in Florida, but will also have operations at the Eastman Business Park.   Kodak spokesperson Louise Kehoe says this new venture will utilize Kodak technology to help companies track their products.

"This new company will be focused on brand protection services as well as anti-counterfeiting solutions so that means technologies to help companies protect their branded products."

There's no immediate word of how many jobs might eventually be created by this venture.

The CEO and Chairman of the company is Charles Fernandez and Kodak's CEO Jeff Clarke will be the vice chairman.

The company will be headquartered in Florida, with research and manufacturing done at the Eastman Business Park.
