The Jewish Community Center of Greater Rochester has a new CEO. The Board of Directors at that organization has named Josh Weinstein to the post. He will succeed Arnie Sohinki, who has served in the role for the past three years.

Weinstein has a background as a business strategist, overseeing consumer brands for General Mills and Birdseye and most recently worked at a local ad agency, Truth Collective.

Officials with the JCC says that as Weinstein comes on board, his focus will include leveraging the newly acquired 105 acres adjacent to the Edgewood Campus, and integrating community partnerships.

A spokesperson says that Sohinki’s three-year contract was ending, but he will likely stay on with the organization in an advisory role.

Sohinki led the JCC through the implementation phase of a $17 million expansion of its facilities and programs.
