Members of the Irondequoit Town Board have appointed a Town Supervisor to fill the spot left vacant when Adam Bello was appointed recently to be Monroe County Clerk.

During a workshop meeting Thursday night, members of the town board picked Councilman Dave Seeley to fill that post. A joint statement from the other board members says that they had earlier conducted interviews with four town residents who formally applied for the position.

Seeley ran for town board when Bello ran for town supervisor in 2013. Seeley will be formally appointed Supervisor in a special town board meeting on Monday, April 18th at 6pm at Irondequoit Town Hall.

Bello was re-elected last year for another two-year term. Seeley will have to run in November's election if he wants to hold the position in 2017.
