The Humboldt Recreation Center on Atlantic Avenue in Rochester is closed Friday and Monday due to a possible pest infestation.

City officials say the facility is subject to regular cleaning and inspection, so they are  confident that this problem arose suddenly and without notice.

The closure allows crews to take immediate action, including using extermination service and thorough cleaning of the site.

All parents of children who frequently attend the R-Center are being notified, and children who regularly attend the Humboldt R-Center may attend summer programming at any one of the City's other R-Centers.

Residents may call the Recreation Bureau at 428-6755 with questions or concerns.
