Monroe County Deputies have arrested a man in connection with a double homicide that happened in Hamlin earlier this month.

On Thursday night, Sheriff Todd Baxter announced that earlier in the day, investigators charged 19 year old Mason Earle of Hamlin with two counts of murder in the deaths of 20 year old Alexander Burrow of Clarkson, and 18 year old Bruce Kane of Sweden.

The pair were found on September 10th in a burned out car in Hamlin.  Baxter says the Medical Examiner determined the two victims died of gunshot wounds. He also says that Earle gave a statement to investigators, admitting to the crime.

Baxter says that there was drug involvement in the incident, but did not go into specifics. He says the man alleged to have killed the other two is acquainted with the victims, and authorities are confident this is an isolated incident.

Baxter says the investigation is still ongoing. He says the arrest "sends a clear message that these types of heinous crimes will not be tolerated and those responsible will be brought to justice."
