Guilty plea in connection with deaths of Sodus mother and son

There’s been a guilty plea in connection with the deaths of a farmworker in Wayne County and her toddler son.

Word of the guilty plea by Everado Donoteo-Reyes, also known as Alberto Reyes, or Alberto Ebarado Gutierre-Reyes, comes from authorities in Wayne County who at this point, are only saying that Reyes is pleading guilty in causing the death of his then-girlfriend, Selena Hidalgo-Calderon and her 14 month old son Owen.

The Wayne County District Attorney and Sheriff have not yet said just what charge or charges Reyes has pleaded to, and say they will have more details at an 11am news conference on Thursday.

Last year, Reyes was charged with second degree murder and tampering with physical evidence.  That followed the discovery of Hidalgo-Calderon’s remains last May, soon after she was reported missing. Her son’s body was found in October.

Hidalgo-Calderon and Reyes lived in a house in Sodus near the farm where they worked.
