Gas prices took a jump over the past week, and AAA of Western and Central New York says we may continue to see prices rise.

The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gas in the Rochester region rose to $2.75 a gallon, a six cent jump over last week, and a penny less than the state average.

AAA says refineries are operating less efficiently because of unplanned maintenance according to information from the Energy Information Administration, and they expect gas prices to keep rising until the refineries are back to operating normally. Upcoming travel for spring break and Easter is also expected to cause a jump in gas prices.
