Fringe Festival Coming to Rochester in September

A new arts festival is coming to Downtown Rochester this fall.

The First Niagara Fringe Festival gives area artists and performers the chance to showcase their talents at a variety of venues in Rochester’s East End.

Festival producer Erica Fee says the festival gives participating venues the chance to put their own spin on the event by determining their own programing, "Fringe festival is a multi-day, multi-discipline festival, which means it includes everything from theater, comedy, to children’s entertainment, music dance, visual arts, physical theater. The sky's really the limit. What this gives the community a chance to do is to actually perform themselves."

Blackfriars Theatre, George Eastman House, Geva’s Nextstage and Kilbourn Hall at Eastman Theater are among 18 official festival sites.

WXXI Public Broadcasting is one of the partners of the four day event which begins Thursday, September 20th.
