Fatal fire in North Winton Village

Rochester fire investigators are looking into the cause of a fatal fire in North Winton Village.

It happened early Saturday morning in a hout at 53 Floverton Street.

When firefighters got there just after 6am, they found smoke coming from the doors and windows of the two-story, single family home.

During the search and rescue efforts one person was found dead inside the home. There is no word yet on the identity of the victim or the cause of death. Authorities say the fire was put out within 10 minutes of firefighters getting there.

It took around 40 firefighters 47 minutes to get the scene under control.
