A second meeting for Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Lake Ontario Resiliency and Economic Development Initiative, or REDI commission, was held Wednesday in Greece.

When REDI was launched,  Cuomo said, "tell us what you need." Now, over 70 projects have been submitted in Monroe County to make the shoreline more resilient.

Alison Mayer, manager of Mayer's Marina in Webster, is one of the 70 submitting a plan. Mayer's Marina was one of the places hardest hit by the flooding.

"It’s been very quiet because of the flood waters," Mayer said. "People haven’t been going out on their boats as much."

Mayer was at Wednesday's meeting to see how to make her proposal, which includes things like raising gas tanks and building new docks, more competitive.

"I’ve been working with the town of Webster to give them more information, to help give the REDI committee more information about the value of the marina," Mayer said.

As part of this program, Mayer has to make a case to save the marina. She has to prove that the repairs she needs are feasible, cost-efficient, and worth it to the community.

"I have no idea what’s going to happen," Mayer pondered.

That’s up to the REDI commission to decide.
