COVID-19 update: 32 new positive cases and one new death

Coronavirus testing came back negative for a person in Livingston County, public health director Jennifer Rodriguez said Tuesday.

The latest numbers from the Monroe County Health Department show there were 32 new positive cases of the coronavirus and one new death. The numbers released on Sunday show that 167 people are hospitalized and 17 of them are in the ICU on a ventilator.

The total number of deaths in Monroe County from COVID-19 is now at 236.

In Livingston County Health Director Jennifer Rodriguez says a woman from Avon in her 70s died from coronavirus. That’s the 8th person in Livingston County to die from the virus. Rodriguez is urging that social distancing precautions continue despite the low number of active cases.
