Connections: Following The Money Around Common Core

When Bob Smith hosted this show, a frequent guest was David Hursh, a University of Rochester professor of education. Recently, Hursh spent nine weeks in New Zealand and Australia, two countries that are just beginning to expand standardized testing. Hursh was asked to advise schools about the impact of standardized tests.

Now back in Rochester, he's trying to follow the money surrounding Common Core standards. Who's paying to promote Common Core and what can we learn by following the money?

Evan Dawson is the host of "Connections with Evan Dawson." He joined WXXI in January 2014 after working at 13WHAM-TV, where he served as morning news anchor. He was hired as a reporter for 13WHAM-TV in 2003 before being promoted to anchor in 2007.
