Connections: An atomic bomb survivor shares her story

We sit down with Sadae Kasaoka, a survivor of the atomic bomb that hit Hiroshima in 1945. Kasaoka was 12 years old when she saw the flash of light and following destruction that devastated her city. She lost both of her parents in the attack, and experienced discrimination as a survivor as she grew into a adulthood.

Kasaoka began sharing her story in the year 2000, with the goal of educating future generations about the dangers of nuclear war. We hear from her this hour, and we discuss the Hiroshima-Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Exhibition at the Rochester Public Library. Our guests:
