First hour: Realtors on the state of the local housing market
Second hour: Journalist Xandr Brown on environmental justiceLocal realtors say the Rochester-area market is slowing somewhat, but it is still a hot seller's market. We're joined by realtors who discuss trends and what to expect in the coming months. Our guests:
- Lanie Bittner, president of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors, and associate broker at RE/MAX Plus
- Shawanda McGee, licensed realtor and founder of She's Dope, a women's empowerment group
- Jim Yockel, CEO of the Greater Rochester Association of Realtors
Then in our second hour, University of Rochester alumnus Xandr Brown says her environmental humanities studies pointed her to her career in journalism. She's pursuing that work in her home of Flint, Michigan. Brown grew up in a fundamentalist, evangelical Christian home, where she says her religious instruction taught her that the earth existed for human use. Her coursework changed that view. Now, her work focuses on environmental justice journalism and advocacy. She joins us to discuss her background, her studies, and her work as a journalist in 2021. Our guest:
- Xandr Brown, journalist based in Flint, Michigan
