First hour: Photojournalism Pulitzer Prize winners and finalists on the art of visual storytelling, part 2

Second hour: Discussing "development without displacement"

A number of RIT alumni have been selected as winners or finalists for Pulitzer Prizes in photojournalism. We welcome Pulitzer Prize winners and finalists this week to discuss their work, including a series that examined the possible impact of a border wall in Arizona. Our guests also discuss the future of journalism and future prospects for young photojournalists. In studio:

  • David Wallace, 2018 Pulitzer Prize winner for Explanatory Reporting
  • Edmund Fountain, 2010 Pulitzer Prize finalist for Local Reporting
  • William Snyder, four-time Pulitzer Prize-winning photographer, and chair of the Photojournalism Program at RIT

Then in our second hour, what exactly is "development without displacement?" Our guests discuss the history of gentrification, and whether there is, as one developer recently said on Connections, a "good kind of gentrification." We discuss ideas for making sure neighbors can stay in their homes while communities are revitalized. And we preview an upcoming event on the subject. In studio:

  • Calvin Eaton, founder and executive director of 540WMain Communiversity
  • Joe Di Fiore, president of City Roots Community Land Trust and board member with the Beechwood Neighborhood Coalition
  • Miriam Zinter, mortgage officer at the Community Preservation Corporation
