Coming up on Connections: Monday, December 3

First hour: Historian David Blight and his book, "Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom"

Second hour: Special broadcast of "Hanukkah Lights"

Historian David Blight has written a remarkable new biography on Frederick Douglass. The book, "Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom" includes insights from a private collection of Douglass family letters. Blight joins us to discuss his work and Douglass' life. His visit is part of a series of events in our area celebrating Douglass. We'll tell you about talks, musical performances, and more. In studio:

  • David W. Blight, historian and author of "Frederick Douglass: Prophet of Freedom"
  • Kenneth Morris, co-founder of the Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives
  • Jessica Lacher-Feldman, assistant dean and the Joseph N. Lambert and Harold B. Schleifer Director of Rare Books, Special Collections, and Preservation at the University of Rochester River Campus Libraries
  • Richard Newman, professor of history at RIT

Then in our second hour, a special broadcast of "Hanukkah Lights," with all new Hanukkah stories.
