First hour: Unleashed: The Pet Show

Second hour: Second Opinion LIVE!

In our first hour, it's Unleashed: The Pet Show. We'll welcome Steven Smith, DVM, of Canandaigua Veterinary Hospital to talk about pet health.

We'll also hear about a new literacy program at Lollypop Farm called Book Buddies, where kids are helping to socialize adoptable cats.

And, do you know the subtle and not-so-subtle signs that should tell you when your pet needs to see the vet or go to the emergency clinic? We'll talk to Dr. Meg Brooker of Canfield Dog and Cat Hospital in Pittsford about which symptoms should be cause for concern.

In our second hour, it’s Second Opinion LIVE! We’ll take an in-depth look at the pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals (supplements) that we are putting in our body. We’ll discuss how we take them, if all are created equally, and if they are really making us healthier. Our guests:

  • Roger Oskvig, M.D., professor of clinical medicine and geriatrician at the University of Rochester Medical Center
  • Lisa Kuras, PharmD, clinical staff pharmacist at Highland Hospital
