Pietro ‘Pete’ Giovenco has been named as CEO of Bergmann Associates, the Rochester-based architecture and engineering firm.
He takes over for Tom Mitchell, who has served as CEO for 14 years; Mitchell will stay on as executive vice president for client relations and business development.
Giovenco is the third CEO since Bergmann Associates was founded in 1980 by Don Bergmann and six other professionals. The company now has more than 400 employees with staff throughout the Northeast, Midwest and Atlantic regions.
For the past 9 months, Giovenco has served as president and chief operating officer for the firm, where he has worked for 28 years. He will also continue to serve as president of the firm.
