Arrest made in death of Irondequoit woman

Police say they’ve made an arrest in connection with the death of an Irondequoit woman.

The human remains recovered this week from Durand Lake were those of Lisa Shuler, 37, whose dismembered body was found at her Culver Road home on May 25.

On Thursday, Irondequoit Police Chief Alan Laird said that a person of interest in the case, Seth Larson, 40, has been located in West Virginia. Larson was Shuler's boyfriend and lived at the Culver Road home with her.

"We are charging Seth Larson with intentional murder in the second degree, tampering with physical evidence and concealment of human corpse," Laird said. "I want the public to know that with this announcement, we don't believe that there's any cause for any further public concern."

Laird said that law enforcement agencies nationwide had been notified that Larson was a person of interest. The Sheriff’s Office in Lewis County, West Virginia contacted local officials about Larson's whereabouts after Larson had been admitted to a local hospital.

Laird said that State and Irondequoit Police continue their investigation in West Virginia, and are making arrangements to get Larson back to Irondequoit.

There's been no mention yet of a potential motive in the case.
