There’s been another serious accident on Lake Avenue in Rochester. Police say a pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle just after midnight, early Saturday morning.
It happened in the Charlotte Area, near 3673 Lake Ave. Police say the victim was a 46 year old woman from Greece. Her name has not been released yet.
Officers say she was struck while trying to cross from the west side of Lake to the east side.
The circumstances surrounding the accident are still under investigation, and that probe will determine whether any charges will be filed against the driver.
The 3000 block of Lake Avenue was closed early Saturday morning due to the investigation. The accident comes on the heels of a number of serious accidents on that road, and just last month, City Councilwoman Molly Clifford along with other officials were on Lake Avenue talking about ways to try and make it a safer road.
