JCC officials make plans for reopening in July

Officials at the Louis S. Wolk Jewish Community Center in Rochester are making plans to reopen the JCC Fitness Center on July 6.

It has been closed during the pandemic, like other gyms and fitness facilities, but officials are looking forward to the Rochester-Finger Lakes region moving into Phase 4 of the state’s reopening plan. The earliest that can happen is June 26.

In a Facebook post, JCC officials say that while they are still finalizing details, among the changes will be new protocols for health assessments and fitness machines will be reopositioned to maintain social distancing.

Masks will be worn by all staff and members while moving around the building.

The JCC says that they will also be introducing a new adaptive fitness area with additional safety precautions.

Officials say that spaces and activities at the JCC will reopen in a step by step process.
