Time Warner Rates To Rise; Some Other Cable & Internet Companies Also Increasing Monthly Fees

Time Warner Cable has started notifying customers about rate increases that will take effect next year.

The increases really vary, so it’s difficult to say how much more an average customer would pay.

In fact, a lot of Time Warner’s cable, phone and internet customers are involved in packages, so some of the price changes won’t take place until the end of the customer’s promotional period. And the company says there’s no change in the monthly price of double and triple-play packages.

But among the fees that will be going up, as you look at them separately include charges for cable modems, the sports programming surcharge, and broadcast TV fee.

The company issued a statement saying that the new prices reflect Time Warner’s continued investment in the performance and reliability of its operations along with the rapidly rising costs of programming.

Time Warner is not alone in raising prices among cable and internet providers. In recent weeks, there have also been reports  of  price increases at Dish and DirectTV, and again, that often varies depending on what type of pricing package you have.
