Reverend Lewis Stewart of United Christian Leadership Ministry and other local faith leaders held a news conference to call for people in the community to protest violence; not only when an officer takes a life, but also when there are black people being murdered by other young African Americans.
Stewart hopes that people in the city will provide information to police about whoever shot the young men outside the Boys and Girls Club on Genesee Street
"We urge citizens who know anything about these shootings, to come forth and inform the proper authorities"
Stewart also called for more steps to get illegal guns off the streets, teaching anti-violence and anti-bullying in schools, and getting parents and churches involved in this effort.
Stewart says there will be a vigil in front of that Boys and Girls Club, Friday night at 6:00 .
