There will not be a march this coming Sunday in Rochester to protest the recent decision not to indict a white  police officer in Ferguson Missouri in the shooting death of a black man.

The march, which was going to go from the Liberty Pole to the Federal Building, was being organized by City Councilman Adam McFadden.

But he issued a statement saying that with emotions running high right now, he has concluded that Sunday is not the best time to hold such an event.

"At this time of Thanksgiving, let's focus on what truly unites us," McFadden said in a statement released Wednesday.

McFadden is calling on city residents to instead take a moment to reflect upon the events of the past week.
