Police Situation Ends With One Person In Custody In Rochester
A section of Rochester’s northeast side was cordoned off for a while Wednesday from the late afternoon into the early evening after a report of shots fired in the area.
It involved a standoff on Vermont Street, near Culver Road. Some roads were closed and some people evacuated.
RPD officials it began after they were called to a home at about 4:30 p.m. for a report of family trouble. When police arrived, they say a suspect fired several shots at officers and the officers returned fire. Police say they are not aware of anyone being injured.
The situation ended just after 7 p.m. when one man was taken into custody. The investigation is still going on.
