Coming up on Connections: Wednesday, October 15th
First hour: Updating Rochester's inner loop and bicycle-friendly projects
Second hour: How should we teach our children about Chirstopher Columbus?
In our first hour, Rochester is ready to start filling part of the inner loop. There are several other projects that will bring significant changes, including the process of making Rochester more bike-friendly. In studio:
Jim McIntosh, Rochester city engineer
In our second hour: How should we teach about Columbus and his expeditions? It's the week of Columbus Day, and several American cities (led by Seattle) are abandoning the official holiday in lieu of various forms of diversity appreciation. Why do so many school children have such a rosy view of Columbus? How should the history be taught? Our distinguished panel debates the question.
