12 noon: Ruth Scott
12:30: The latest on autism
1pm: Neil deGrasse Tyson
At noon, we sit down with Ruth Scott. She talks about overcoming racism to become the first black president of Rochester's city council, among numerous other accomplishments.
At 12:30, the autism prevalence rate has risen again. 1 in 68 children are considered to be "on the spectrum." We look at the research, the meaning for families, and we'll preview a big upcoming event.
At 1pm, Neil deGrasse Tyson joins us live. The astrophysicist and host of Cosmos will talk about how he approaches the challenge of getting more people excited about science. And he'll explain why we approach the issue in a backwards manner. Tyson is coming to MCC next week, and while the event is sold out, we'll explain how there is still a chance to see and hear him speak.
