William Lewek Pleads Not Guilty At Arraignment

Time Warner Cable News

The Rochester psychiatrist accused of hiding the body of Matthew Straton in his backyard pleaded not guilty to felony charges of evidence tampering and drug possession at his arraignment on Wednesday.

62 year old William Lewek is not charged with Straton's death, but is accused of moving his body from the third floor of his Rowley Street home and into his backyard, and then covering it up.

Straton had been reported missing in late October. The body was found by police on January 15th.  Lewek remains free on $350,000 bail.

The Monroe County District Attorney's office is awaiting final results of an autopsy.  A number of Straton's relatives and friends attended the arraignment on Wednesday morning.  Lewek is due back in court in April.
