12 noon: A new approach to treating autism

1pm: A leading voice in the effort to reform the juvenile justice system

At noon, Dr. Lawrence Sugarman is pioneering a new approach toward ameliorating some of the challenges of autism. He uses a technique that involves hypnosis and no medication. Some parents have already said that it's changing their lives. He's in studio to explain how it's done, and what we can learn from it.

At one, school psychologist Shawn Goodman has been praised by the New York Times for his grim, unflinching portrayal of the juvenile justice system. Goodman's two books take us inside the system, with no apologies for the bare-knuckled portrait that can make life worse for the young boys the system seeks to reform. Few people are more qualified to offer this critique, and we'll hear from Goodman about how the system can change for the better.
