A recall of frozen corn by a Brockport based food processing company will affect a large supermarket in the Rochester area.
The recall is by a company called Bonduelle USA, which has a facility in Brockport. They are recalling more than 9300 cases of frozen corn because it has the potential to be contaminated with Listeria, an organism that can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, and others with weakened immune systems.
The company has not received any complaints in relation to this product and is not aware of any illnesses associated with the corn so far.
It was distributed in several states including New York. In the Rochester area, Wegmans says only its Pittsford store is affected. It affects some of their prepared products made with corn.
