Rochester General Opens New Imaging Facility

Rochester General has opened an imaging facility in downtown Rochester that officials say will accommodate out patient needs more efficiently than a traditional hospital. It's being called a "hospital without beds."

Services offered at Alexander Park's medical campus will include general x-ray, bone density scanning, mammography screenings and noninvasive computerized exams.

Mark Clement, CEO and President, says health care systems across the state are revving up efforts to offer hospital services within the community.

Clement says ambulatory, or outpatient services, saves patients time and money. Alexander Park's Imaging Center is the 8th affiliate exclusively dedicated to ambulatory care.
