Night Out Crime Prevention Rally In Irondequoit

Officials are expecting a crowd of around 600 for tonight's crime prevention rally in Irondequoit.

Police Chief Richard Tantalo says it's a night of food and entertainment, and dialogue between the police department and the public.

"It really is an opportunity for the police department and the community to come together. Community engagement is extremely important for us to work together for a safer community."

Chief Tantalo adds they work very hard on community policing, and promoting a strong relationship between residents and their police department.

There will be a series of displays and demonstrations by police officers, food and refreshments.

The event runs from 6 to 8 at the Irondequoit Town Hall Campus.
