Two New York Army National Guard CH-47 helicopters from Rochester are in Rhode Island Saturday supporting Leapfest, the oldest and largest international military parachute competition in the world.
Eleven Soldiers from Detachment 1, Company B, 3rd Battalion, 126th Aviation, will spend up to six hours dropping the competitor parachutists as an extension of their training.
Teams of four jumpers from around the world are competiting, hoping to land on a big, orange, X target.
