Reports: Cedric Alexander To Stay In Georgia

WSB-TV

Despite widespread speculation in recent weeks that former Rochester Police Chief Cedric Alexander would be returning to that role next year with the new Mayor Lovely Warren administration, some media reports in Georgia say that won’t be happening.

Both the Atlanta Journal-Constitution newspaper and WSB-TV are quoting sources as saying a press conference in Georgia on Tuesday will reveal that Alexander will remain as the DeKalb County Police Chief.

Alexander was named Acting Rochester Police Chief in 2005, and then left for a state criminal justice position.

The current RPD Chief, James Sheppard, recently announced his retirement.
