Connections: Breaking Down the Released Common Core Questions
This hour is part of Education Friday. On Wednesday, New York Education officials released half of the math and English test questions taken by students in grades 3 through 8. Supporters say it'll help teachers assess what the students are learning, the critics have targeted the questions themselves.
Joining us to talk about this is Loy Gross and her daughter Kiera. Loy had decided to pull her daughter out of Pavilion Central Schools because of Common Core. We also had a chance to talk with Ken Wagner, deputy commissioner of cirriculum, assessment, and education technology for the New York State Education Department.
