In his State of Our Schools presentation Tuesday night Vargas also said better communication between the District, parents and community members is another key task for the year.

He says while the District will continue implementing some measures from 2011 there will be no changes to the District’s Strategic Plan for academic achievement.

This marks the District’s 4th year of the 5 year plan. "We are phasing in new schools and phasing out low performing schools” Vargas said. “Not replacing the Rochester Curriculum - not rewriting the strategic plan - the District has had 7 new strategic plans over the past 20 years. We cannot spend another year discussing all of this."
