Winter Blues Also Hitting Some Retailers
This long, cold winter has definitely impacted sales for some retailers
That's what member businesses are telling the President and CEO of the Greece Chamber of Commerce, Jodie Perry.
She says restaurants tend to be impacted the most by the harsh weather, as potential customers tend to stay home when the weather is threatening.
And going out to eat is often a spur of the moment decision.
Others say the weather can greatly influence when they are busy, such as people stocking up before a big storm.
Overall, Perry says she's not aware of any businesses in dire straits because of this year's weather.
Perry expects there is some pent up demand from consumers, and retail activity will pick up when spring finally arrives.
And while the Greece Chamber of Commerce can't do anything about the weather, Perry says they are in the business of helping businesses succeed.
