Xerox To Furlough "Small Number" Of Employees For One Week

Some local Xerox workers will have to take a week off without pay next month. The mandatory one week furlough will affect what a spokesman says is a "small number' of services workers, mainly in the area of I-T outsourcing.

It's part of a cost-cutting move being done at some Xerox facilities nationwide. Spokesman Bill McKee says it's part of the company's ongoing efforts to adjust expenses to match revenue.

He says that most of the services workers in the Rochester area work at the call center, and they are not being affected by the furlough.  The exact number of employees who are impacted was not released.
