First hour: Farms look for growth in CSAs
Second hour: Jack Garner previews the Oscars
Local farms are uniting to bring more people into their CSAs. Soon enough, we'll see asparagus leading the spring crop, and CSAs will be in full swing. Our panel will explain how CSAs work, how they've grown, and they'll talk about how building community gives them an opportunity to talk about a wide range of issues that impact farms. Those include why local food can be healthier for consumers as well as the environment, why teaching your kids where their food comes from is important, and what climate change is doing to local farms. In studio:
- Ruth Blackwell, Mud Creek Farm
- Ammie Chickering, Peacework Farm
- Andy Fellenz, Fellenz Family Farm
- Kyle Stevens, Lehigh Valley Outpost
In our second hour, film critic Jack Garner previews the Oscars. He'll share his selections for the various categories, including Best Picture. And he'll weigh in on the lack of diversity in the nominees, which has become a growing controversy.
