Local clergy are expressing hope that today's meeting with President Obama and Pope Francis conveys the message of peace in our world.
That from Reverend George Heyman, Associate Professor of Bibilical Studies at St. Bernard's School of Theology and Ministry.
He says both men share the ideal of championing the poor, and addressing economic inequality.
At the same time, there won't be any changes in Church or Administration policy on issues that they differ on -- such as contraception and abortion.
But Fr. Heyman says the iconic meeting symbolizes how people in religion and politics can strive for the common good.
